FOUND IN FENWAY
January 5th-May 20th, 2016
Fenway Studios is the oldest purpose-built structure in the country constructed for and dedicated solely to artists' space. The Studios are also the first in the country to pioneer a not-for-profit limited-equity form of ownership. Located at 30 Ipswich Street in Boston, Fenway Studios was built in 1905 after a fire destroyed the Harcourt Studios on Irvington Street in Boston. The new building was designed so that each studio has north-facing windows, and was inspired by the 19th century ateliers in Paris.
Informed by this rich history, artists who reside at Fenway Studios today paint in a variety of styles and mediums.
The artists in this exhibition include:
Ernest Andrades, Mae Chevrette, Samuel Gareginyan, Berio Gizzi, Ellen Haiken, Mary Hughes, Denise Lindquist, Keith Maddy, and Teri Malo. |
